I-Bus announced
today that a group of senior managers had successfully purchased the
computing business from Maxwell Technologies, and will operate it as a
group of independent companies in Europe and the United States.
The company's
New President Dr. Johni Chan will be based in San Diego, California at
the Electrical Design center. The US Sales and Marketing efforts
continue at the Atascadero, California facilities. John Weller and
Alain Arnaud, will continue to run the Sales and Operations in Europe.
Says Dr. Chan " I-Bus will concentrate on designing and developing High
Availability computing platforms for use in mission-critical
applications, and will be committing significant investment into the
ongoing R&D of a range of High Availability solutions " .
OEM customers will benefit from the commitment to in-house system
design and chassis manufacturing using the latest 3D modeling software,
and CNC manufacturing techniques, enabling rapid development of
customized solutions from concept to completion. Manufacturing
continues in the UK at the European Headquarters in Tangmere, West
Sussex.
I-Bus will
continue to focus its efforts on delivering a range of scalable
solutions for its OEM customers, and expand its third party alliances
with enabling technology partners. It will also be expanding its
current services offering to deliver a total customer support program
which includes approvals certification, revision control, product
branding and a complete program for product life cycle, maintenance and
service support.
This puts I-Bus in a unique position within the market, with in-house
system design, engineering and chassis manufacture all located under
one roof, enabling rapid prototyping and testing of solutions tailored
to each customer's specific requirements.
