IBus
Corporation today announced that it has entered into an agreement with
Ericsson, the world's market leader in mobile systems, to supply fully
integrated computing platforms for Ericsson's signalling systems
designed for Network Equipment Providers, Carriers and Service
Providers.
The Sigtran
product provides a turnkey signalling platform for integration in
location-based solutions, messaging solutions, prepaid solutions, voice
over IP solutions, softswitch solutions and other telecommunications
applications. "I-Bus is pleased to add an Ericsson signalling solution
to our Orion series of highly reliable, highly available computing
platforms," said Johni Chan, President, IBus Corporation. "With our
technologies leadership and our OEM support programs, we can deliver
the highest availability and reliability solutions that SS7 requires."
IBus Introduces the Orion family product, the smallest form factor 18
slots NEBS compliant PICMG 2.16 CompactPCI platform with Compact
Package Switching Backplane (cPSB) in the market today. Featuring dual
redundant Ethernet switch solutions for both Pentium-based and
UltraSPARC™-based single board computer (SBC). IBus 2802 newly released
SBC offers the highest performance dual Tualatin, low voltage PIII with
DDR memory and dual Gigabit Ethernet for Windows and Linux. The Orion
platform also support SPARC/Solaris technology-based solution from Sun
Microsystems for both PICMG 2.16 and non-PICMG 2.16.
The Sigtran for Solaris¨ SS7 features the IBus Orion 0814D platform
together with the Sun Microsystems Netra™ CP 2040 and Netra™ CP2060
Single Computer Boards supporting UltraSPARC™ processors operating up
to 500MHz. The standard Sun CP20xx boards are NEBS Level 3 certified
and operates with Sun Solaris¨ 8 Operating System.
The IBus
Orion-8U platform series is a carrier-grade NEBS compliant CompactPCI
platform that delivers the "five nines" high availability requirements
for the critical communications and networking applications. IBus is
one of the industry's first computing platform providers to utilise the
patented Fail-Safe OptiCool™ technology, enabling higher density
configurations in the minimum amount of rack space. The Orion platform
also includes the option of up to 4 hot-swap, SCA SCSI hard drives for
increased maintainability and serviceability, an IPMI compliant PICMG
2.9 System Management Controller with SNMP software options, four x
200W Hot-swap configured as N+1 redundant AC or DC power supplies with
patented dual hot-swap isolated power input modules and optional
patented embedded UPS for power InfiniAvailability™.
"The IBus patented Power Input Architecture together with all the
high-availability features in the IBus computing platform can provide
the Signalling platform a competitive advantage in applications
requiring smaller form factor, optimised cooling, high density and the
highest levels of reliability," added Johni Chan, "our Orion family
product is the highest density cPCI platform with the greatest level of
application availability, serviceability, and maintainability available
in the market today."
